During Doug Blonsky’s time as President and CEO of the Central Park Conservancy, he fostered innovation, secured nearly a billion dollars in funding, and oversaw the successful management of hundreds of restoration projects that revived New York’s most important green space into the beloved oasis it is today.

He began working at the Central Park Conservancy in 1985. In 1998, when the Central Park Conservancy formalized its then 18-year partnership with the City of New York by signing a historic management contract, Doug was appointed Central Park Administrator. In 2004, he became President and CEO. Under his leadership, nearly $1 billion was invested in transformative restoration projects. Doug also developed innovative management practices that have set the standard for urban park management worldwide.
A graduate of the University of Delaware and Cook College at Rutgers University, Doug holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Plant Science and Landscape Architecture, and is a registered landscape architect in New York State. Effective June 30, 2018 Mr. Blonsky retired after 33 year with the Conservancy. On March 13, 2018 Mr. Blonsky was appointed a Founding Trustee of the Conservancy in recognition of his accomplishments.
